If you dont care about these, then AGiliTy or Gargoyle will work well. As with any adventure game, you should EXAMINE everything. The info you glean from this alone will help you navigate the game more easily and enjoyably. EXAMINE also acts as a trigger in certain situations. From the bedroom: READ the SLIP, then go NORTH. The room is dark, so go SOUTH, then go WEST. In the living room: If you're using DosBox, you can VIEW the FIREPLACE. TAKE the DECANTER, EXAMINE IT, OPEN IT, EXAMINE the WINE, SMELL the WINE, TASTE the WINE (several times). EXAMINE the RADIO, EXAMINE the CALENDAR. EXAMINE the BOOK CASE. OPEN IT. EXAMINE the WHITE BOOK. READ IT. EXAMINE the BLACK BOOK. READ IT. Go NORTH to the ENTRY. This triggers the arrival of the PIGEON. EXAMINE the PIGEON. You can interact with it in many ways. Have fun! EAST is another dark area, so go WEST to the Bathroom, and WEST again to the Bathtub. TURN the FAUCET, and you'll notice a shiny object stuck in the pipes You can't retrieve it until you find a way to avoid the scalding water. Go back to the Entry and EXAMINE the door. Eventually you get on Frank's nerves and he throws you out after taking the key away from you. Go back to where you left everything, TAKE the KNIFE and return to University Hall. TAKE the KEY again and wander around until you encounter the administrator again. This time, CUT the RED TAPE. Frank will toss you out without taking the key. In Harvard yard: Go NORTH, EXAMINE the GATE, OPEN GATE WITH IRON KEY, go NORTHWEST, EXAMINE SUNDIAL, If you're using DosBox, you can VIEW DIAL. If you're using DosBox, you can VIEW LIBRARY. For fun, EXAMINE the SLOT, then DROP the ZERO IN SLOT. TAKE the ZERO. Go EAST, then NORTH, back to Lehman Hall. In Lehman Hall: Go NORTH to the DINING HALL, then EAST. The security guard and the co-masters will appear randomly and often. You should EXAMINE them and TALK TO them when they appear. You can get MIKE off your back when you SHOW ID TO MIKE. After Mike departs, go EAST into the GRILL. EXAMINE the ALUMNUS, LISTEN, GIVE KNIFE TO ALUM. EXAMINE STEAK, go WEST, TOUCH STATUE. You need to get rid of Paul and Cynthia before TOUCH STATUE works. Go SOUTH, PUSH BUTTON, PUSH 3, If you're using DosBox, you can VIEW SHIELD. Go WEST, EXAMINE PIANO, PLAY IT. In the master's office: If Paul catches you here, all you can do is LEAVE. Anything else will get you thrown out of the building. You can re-enter immediately and try again. If you've TALKed TO PAUL or CYNTHIA, you now have what they want. WAIT here until one of them shows up and GIVE CONUNDRUM TO PAUL / CYNTHIA Go EAST, then EAST to the Library. In the Library: EXAMINE everything first. You can BORROW a book now or later, but you must have the ID CARD to do so. You can only BORROW one book at a time, but you can EXCHANGE them if necessary. When you are finished exploring the upper floors, return to the dining hall. If you've given the conundrum to PAUL or CYNTHIA, you can TOUCH STATUE to open the secret passage. If you're using DosBox, you'll see two computer screens that inform you of the correct book. If you're using a different interpreter, READ the NOTEPAD to get the info on the correct book (this works in DosBox also). Getting the correct book: If you have already borrowed one of the books from Dudley BEFORE inserting the DISK/MOUSE, you will have to EXCHANGE books at the library (devious!). Go to the Dudley library and TAKE the other book. When the librarian appears, EXCHANGE BOOKS. If you haven't yet borrowed either book, you now know which one to get. Go to the library and BORROW it. When you have the correct book, take it to WIDENER. From the Dudley library: WEST, PUSH BUTTON, PUSH 2, SOUTH, WEST, PUT BOOK IN SLOT With the APPOINTMENT SLIP and ID CARD: Now you can get in to see the Senior Tutor. At the lounge, go: SOUTHEAST, EXAMINE JOHN, TALK TO JOHN. When you leave his office, go to University Hall to see Frank, the Administrator. He has what you need. Take the steak with you. In University Hall: Walk in any direction 'til you find the administrator, EXAMINE ADMINISTRATOR, EXAMINE STUDY CARD, TAKE STUDY CARD, GIVE STEAK TO ADMINISTRATOR. In Harvard Yard (with the Study Card): A queer old dean will approach you. EXAMINE the DEAN, TALK TO DEAN, GIVE STUDY CARD TO DEAN. When he gives it back, you can take it to Mem Hall to give it to the registrar. Go SOUTH, go WEST, go SOUTH, GET IN LINE. The registrar is not amused. Check your INVENTORY and discover that the STUDY CARD is now a STURDY CAD! Take the STURDY CAD and SHOW it to JOHN at the SENIOR TUTORS OFFICE. Then you must find the queer old dean (I'd look around Harvard Yard) and SHOW CAD TO DEAN. He'll turn it back into a STUDY CARD. The Study Card: It's fun to take the card to MEM HALL before you get it signed, but ultimately it needs John's signature. Take it to his office and GIVE CARD TO JOHN. Then GIVE FEATHER TO JOHN, DIP FEATHER IN INK, GIVE FEATHER TO JOHN. If you had to use HELP for this sequence, DosBox users will see a helpful picture. NOW you can take the signed card to MEM HALL: GET IN LINE, WAIT until you reach the front of the line. At this point, you might want to find the dean and GIVE BASS TRACKS TO THE DEAN. He's sure to turn them into BRASS TACKS for you! When you have the BRASS TACKS, go back to banks street and GIVE TACKS TO WORKMAN. You will get a dirty plank of mortar in exchange. It's also fun to try giving the BASS TRACKS to the workman. NOW using the Doohickey, TURN KNOB TO 5. This takes you to Beacon Street. Go SOUTH, then WEST. Chat with the manager, then OPEN TABLE and LOOK. TAKE STRAW will begin the game of NIM. You can take either 1 or 2 straws per turn. You may have to play NIM more than once to win, but when you're successful you'll be given a pink package. You can't open it yet, but the time will come. ==================================================================== At this point, you have completed almost everything. There is a 4 move delay, so walk in any direction or do anything for 4 moves, and you will 'awaken' to your telephone. If you're using DosBox, you'll hear a phone ringing.
